The A1 is largely free-flowing outside peak hours. We normally allow five to six hours from the Nene Valley for an afternoon ferry check-in.
The DFDS Amsterdam ferry has a strict afternoon check-in deadline.
Cruise calls use Northumbrian Quay rather than the ferry terminal.
Overnight and early departures make the A1 run very predictable.
