Heathrow Airport Transfers from the Nene Valley
Heathrow is the busiest airport we travel to and the one that rewards planning the most. Five terminals, a one-way road system and heavy morning traffic on the M1 and M25 mean the difference between a calm arrival and a rushed one is usually the departure time.

Drop-off
Where we set you down
All Heathrow terminals use a paid drop-off zone directly outside departures. We pull in at the kerb closest to your check-in desks, unload your luggage onto a trolley and see you through to the terminal door before leaving.
Pick-up
Meeting you on the way back
For arrivals we monitor your flight and meet you in the arrivals hall, or at the designated short-stay collection point if you prefer to walk out. Terminal 5 and Terminal 2 both have short walks from baggage reclaim to the meeting area.
Recommended departure times
When we suggest setting off
For long-haul departures we usually recommend leaving the Nene Valley around five hours before take-off; for short-haul European flights, around four. Between 05:00 and 07:00 the M25 anticlockwise section slows considerably, so early flights often mean a departure before 03:00.
Heathrow recommends arriving three hours before long-haul and two hours before short-haul departures.
Terminals 2 and 3 are within walking distance of one another; Terminals 4 and 5 are separate and served by their own roads.
If your airline changes terminal after booking, let us know — the drop-off point changes with it.
FAQs
Heathrow questions we are asked
- How long does it take to get to Heathrow from Raunds?
- Typically between one hour forty-five and two hours fifteen, depending on the time of day and the state of the M1 and M25. We build a generous margin into every airport departure.
- Do you monitor flights for delayed arrivals?
- Yes. Give us your flight number when you book and we track the landing time, so a delay does not mean a missed collection.
- Which terminal will you drop me at?
- The terminal shown on your booking confirmation. Please tell us the terminal and airline when you enquire, and let us know if the airline changes it.
- Can you collect very early in the morning?
- Yes — early departures are a large part of what we do. Pre-dawn collections from across the Nene Valley are arranged as standard.
